Summer Camp

Camp Details:
•	Sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer.
We offer morning (9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) sessions. See the 2010 Summer Camp Schedule for details.
You can pick and choose the days that work with your schedule.  Register for one or all...but, register early!  Last year, camps were filled by mid-April. 
Registration begins on February 15th for previous campers and February 22nd for new families.
•	Camp is held at the art.smart.kids studio located in Oak Hill/ Herndon, VA.

Camp Fees:
•	Each session is $38 and includes all art supplies and a healthy snack.
•	Après Art (parent provided lunch option) available from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for an additional $5.
•	Receive 10% off when you register for 5 or more sessions. Our policy is sibling friendly and applies to the total number of sessions registered for the family.

Camp Structure:
All art projects will focus on one or more of the elements of art (form, line, shape, color, texture, space, value) and the principles of art (emphasis, balance, harmony, variety, movement, rhythm, proportion, unity).  
Each camper will return home with a masterpiece made with quality art materials, an @home folio, and a new appreciation and love of art! (What’s an @home folio?)

A typical day at art.smart.kids camp includes.....
•	Circle time to discuss day’s focus and events
•	Storytime with visual aids
•	Focused art project(s)
•	Independent and group structured time
•	Healthy snack/active play in a secured outdoor space
•	Open-ended play manipulatives such as blocks, tanagrams and building sets
•	Customized art games

Enrollment is processed on a first come, first served basis. Previous campers can register starting February 15th.  Registration for new campers opens on February 22nd. Enrollment forms must be received by mail. All enrollments must be accompanied by payment.  Instructions and address for art.smart.kids are included on the Enrollment form.

Registration packets including health forms may be sent at a later date; but, they must be received at least two weeks before camper’s first session.

Class Size and Waiting List:  Each class is limited to 8 children. Enrollment will be accepted until a class fills. If a class is full, a waitlist will be created in the event of cancellations. 

Payment:  Full payment by check (do not mail cash) is required to secure a space in each session.  art.smart.kids will assess a $20 charge to any check returned for insufficient funds. 

Class Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email from art.smart.kids within one week of your registration. Two weeks prior to the start of camp you will receive information confirming receipt of health forms and providing other general information. 

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration at least two weeks prior to the start of camp, art.smart.kids will refund your payment less a $10 processing fee per session.
